Synthetic presenters and looks: a portrait without a photo, one face in different settings

Arda Koç·

If you prefer not to show your own face, design a presenter from a written description. Then add looks such as office, workshop or store to the same presenter, and choose a different one for each video.

When to use a synthetic presenter

A synthetic presenter suits three situations: you prefer not to appear on camera yourself, the person who will represent your brand has not been decided yet, or you run several brands and want a separate presenter for each. A synthetic presenter does not belong to a real person. For that reason, no consent declaration is needed and the presenter does not represent anyone.

It works in the same places as a portrait created from a photo: presenter video, personal intro video, multi-recipient video, ad film with your portrait, a founder scene in an ad film, and the "show a presenter" option in an explainer video.

How to design one

On the My Portrait page, choose "Design a presenter". You make four selections: gender, age range, outfit (suit, blazer and shirt, smart casual, white coat, work uniform, sportswear) and setting (modern office, studio, store or showroom, workshop or production floor, clinic, outdoors). You can also add a short note, such as "short hair, smiling".

The presenter is generated in a few seconds and appears in your portrait list. Your first portrait is free, and further portraits follow the standard portrait pricing. Daily portrait creation is set per account, and the allowance covers synthetic presenters, photo portraits and look packs together.

Example description

“Woman · 30s · blazer and shirt · modern office · short hair, smiling”

Look packs: five settings in one step

Next to any portrait, select "Add look pack" and pick one of eight ready-made themes: Modern Corporate, Smart Casual, Scandinavian Minimal, Technology, Healthcare, Stage Speaker, Sports or Automotive. Five looks are generated with the same face. This takes a few minutes, and finished looks appear in the list as they become ready.

The pack fee is taken from your credit balance, and the looks included in a pack are defined by its theme. Each theme only needs to be added once, because it stays saved on the portrait.

Adding looks from your own photos

If you have photos taken in other outfits or settings, you can upload them as additional looks on the same portrait. The face must belong to the same person, and the photo requirements match those for a photo portrait: a sharp, well-lit image with the person facing the camera.

A portrait can hold up to 20 looks, counting the original photo, pack looks and uploaded photos together. Each additional look is trained separately for the AI, so a small per-look fee applies. The more outfits, settings and angles you add, the better you can match the look to each scene.

The choice is made separately for each product

On the My Portrait page, you set one portrait as the default. This only determines which portrait is preselected when a wizard opens. Every product wizard includes the steps "Which portrait should present?" and "Where would you like to appear?", so you can pick a different portrait or look for each job. Voice works the same way: the default is set in My Portrait, and it can be changed per job in the wizard.

  • •Presenter video and personal intro video: portrait, look and voice.
  • •Ad film with your portrait and standard ad film: number of founder scenes (1 to 5, depending on the length band) and which portrait to use.
  • •Explainer video: the "show a presenter" option and which portrait to use.
  • •Multi-recipient video: one portrait, with a separate message for each recipient.
